The Okura Bush Track ventures through the Okura Reserve and joins with the marine reserve.
The track begins from the carpark and heads towards a bridge to cross the river into the reserve. Then the track stretches through a beautiful piece of land surrounded by noisy wildlife. The path is surrounded by protected kauri and constant calls of the surrounding birds. The first half of the track is under shelter of the trees with steps and board walks reflecting the effort put into making such a beautiful track. Once you reach the top of the hill the trees begin to clear and the stunning views are displayed. 100 steps later and a short walk along the beach, you reach the hut before it is time to venture back along the track in the opposite direction.
Extra tracks include a Low tide track which walks around the point.
