The Mokoroa Falls track is in between Muriwai and Waitakere, on Auckland's west coast, approximately 45 km from Auckland City. It is an additional track which can be accessed from Goldie Bush Walkway. The Mokoroa Falls track is a beautiful stretch of land leading to a mesmerizing waterfall located in Muriwai. The path is surrounded by protected kauri and pleasing noises of natures wildlife including the call of tuis and cicadas. The track follows a gentle path along a ridge to a viewing platform where you can view the Mokoroa Falls. From the viewing platform, steep steps lead down to the Mokoroa Stream where you can view the falls from the bottom. Take care as the steps are slippery. At the falls you will find 2 large falls (size depends on previous rainfall). The falls have multiple perfect picnic spots. Along the path there is a junction where the path splits into 2 longer walks about 2 to 3 hrs each called the Mokoroa stream track and the Goldie bush walkway if you are up for the challenge.
